Zachary Hamilton Music
About
Zachary Hamilton is a classically-trained American violist and violinist. He works as a freelance performer and teacher, and has a passion for improvisation and cross-genre innovation.

​His debut EP, You're My Favorite, features minimalist classical music, as well as arrangements of pop art and Scottish folk music.
Bio and Affiliations
Zachary Hamilton is a recording artist, freelance violist and violinist, and teacher in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. He currently studies viola under Jonathan Moerschel in the Doctor of Musical Arts program at UC Santa Barbara.

Zachary is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, where he specialized in new music and studied viola under Ásdís Valdimarsdottir and specialized in new music. He has played in professional ensembles throughout the West Coast, the Netherlands, and Austria. Zachary also plays jazz, fiddle, and Baroque viola, and his Master’s thesis focused on the implementation of hip hop on string instruments.

Zachary plays a 17-inch viola made by the Dutchman Peter Pots in 1988, and a Parisian violin from the early 19th century from an unknown maker.
